Exactly what I was looking for. I appreciated how the argument builds steadily from first principles. The language takes some getting used to, but it becomes part of the charm.
Finally got around to ordering this. It's become a regular reference in my practice. The font runs small in the appendices. Still worth having on the shelf.

I keep coming back to this one. Every rereading turns up something I missed. Plenty of passages worth underlining; my copy is already full of margin notes. My only regret is not ordering it sooner.
